Beautifully woven textile piece from the Chimu culture of modern day Peru, dating between the 10th and 13th Century. Woven of wool with dyed geometric design going down the length of the textile in a stunning deep red tone. These textiles would have been used for burial ritual, as well as every day clothing - serving both utilitarian and ceremonial purpose.
