Incredible bronze sculpture by notable Italian sculpture of the mid 20th century Mario Negri (1916 - 1987), sold at the sculptors first Canadian solo exhibition in Montreal’s Dominion Gallery. A stunning sculpture entitled Rope Dancer or Danceuse De Corde, done in 1954. A brilliantly sculpted figure that rivalled Negri’s contemporaries like Giacometti. Although the figure is missing it’s second arm, it still shows in an incredible manner, a truly expressive bronze masterpiece by a very notable artist.
