Very rare and truly incredible Chalcolithic period, circa 5600 - 5400 BCE, Hacilar painted and decorated bowl, Anatolian, modern day Southwestern Turkey. Beautiful and incredible crudely constructed of clay, decorated with orange banded decoration surrounding the lip, and vertical rising decoration wrapping the body. Repairs present, with no missing pieces, typical of excavated artifacts of the period. An incredible 7500 year old survivor, speaking to the beauty and craftsmanship of Chalcolithic period humankind.
