Beautiful Kabutowari or helmet breaker/skull buster iron weapon with lovely globular nodules throughout the “blade”. A small but heavy iron blunt weapon used to essentially break helmets, tear apart armour, and on unarmed skin from the early - mid Edo period (1603 - 1868), Japan, by samurai and ashigaru. This example with a beautifully wrapped cane handle.
