Incredible gothic era, 15th century limestone head with perfect weathering of the face - or lack thereof. Small features can still be made out in the eye and mouth regions, but more evident is the beautiful, flowing hair encasing the face. Elegant yet crude carving, very clearly a master work yet time has eroded the work into an almost haunting characterful crudeness. Displayed on contemporary iron and wood stand.
