Originates from: Nuremberg, Germany
Era: 1550
Dimensions: 13” Ø x 1.5” D (Dish only)
Incredible and very rare alms dish, made in Nuremberg, Germany in the mid 16th century of hammered brass. The umbilicus is simple in design yet masterful in execution. The skull and crossbones, likely a memento mori, beautifully designed in the focal point of the dish. A rare and scarcely found depiction on period alms dishes. Hook present on the back side of plate to hang as display as well.
