A lovely mid-18th century German hunting dagger, blade and tang, iron handle pins complete but missing original hilt. Known as a Hirschfänger or deer catcher, these would have been carried by nobility or hunting professionals on deer or boars once hounds had the animals cornered. Found in Germany buried in the ground. Rusted patina across the entirety of the piece.
