A lovely large scale example of a Celtic votive axe circa 450 - 150 BCE, England. Used as a ritual offering as offerings to gods or personal charms or protective amulets to accompany the deceased into the afterlife. This is a wonderful example, retaining beautiful patina across the bronze body and blade. Displayed on contemporary stand.
