An incredible and rare Greek Core-Formed Amphoriskos dating to the Hellenistic period, 3rd Century BCE. Formed of deep blue glass with opaque white, orange and yellow mattered zig zag pattern across body and horizontal linework around the neck. Twin applied handles, both repaired, of the same deep blue glass. Repaired knopped base.

Of stunning proportion, a truly incredible and awe inspiring work of antiquity, a marvel to hold in hand. Originally used to hold precious liquids, likely a perfume bottle, also often found as votive offerings. Displayed on included contemporary metal stand.
