Originates from: England
Era: 1st Century AD
Dimensions: 5” W x 4” H (Knife)
Forged iron with thin wedge section blade for slashing. Integral tang with ring terminal. This small knife would have been carried in a shoulder slung pouch ready the defense of its owner. The tang was wrapped with hide to provide an ergonomic grip and the blade was substantial enough for an organ deep thrust, though its primary use was as a light, and agile slashing weapon, capable of throat cutting. Excavated and conserved on acrylic display mount.
